We got engaged on Dec 26, 2023 at the goat sanctuary where we had our first date! Neither of us proposed; we planned out the day together. We ate some fancy chocolates and read psukim from Megillat Rut to each other. Then, we went home and did our year-end tzedakah, beginning a long journey of uniting our households and resources with shared intentions toward justice and mitzvot.
אֶל־אֲשֶׁר תֵּלְכִי אֵלֵךְ וּבַאֲשֶׁר תָּלִינִי אָלִין עַמֵּךְ עַמִּי וֵאלֹהַיִךְ אֱלֹהָי׃ בַּאֲשֶׁר תָּמוּתִי אָמוּת וְשָׁם אֶקָּבֵר
"Wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people is my people, and your God my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried." (Ruth 1:16-17)
